Link Adder

Privacy Policy

Link Adder, operated by Find Your Net, LLC. Last updated August 26, 2026.

The short version

  • Link Adder keeps the links you choose to save, plus the email address on your Google account. That is close to the whole of it.
  • Nothing is recorded unless you save it. What we hold is a list you built, not a record of where you have been. Your browsing history is never read.
  • Your information is not sold, not rented, and not handed to advertisers. There is no advertising on Link Adder.
  • Ask and it is deleted, in full. Email ltdninja@iadb.com.

What we store

Three kinds of information. It is worth being exact about each, because the difference between them is the difference between a bookmark tool and a tracker.

Your account

The email address on the Google account you are signed into, and the id of your Chrome profile. The profile id is only a key: it tells us which account is yours, which is why you never had to invent a username or a password to start using Link Adder. If you later set a password for the website, we store that as well.

The links you save

For every link you deliberately save: its web address, the page title, the site's icon, which of your lists it went into, and when. Anything you add yourself sits alongside it, so that includes your list names, any note or custom image you attach, and the order you drag things into.

Ordinary server records

Like any website, our server logs the request: your IP address, your browser and operating system, and the time. These logs exist to keep the service running and to look into faults and abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you.

What we never store

  • Your browsing history. The extension reads a tab at the moment you ask it to save one, and reads the tab list only to offer you the page you came from when you open a new tab. It does not watch you browse and it reads nothing in the background.
  • What is on a page. We store the address of a page and its title, not its contents.
  • Payment information. Link Adder takes no payments, so there is nothing of the sort to hold.
  • Anything else from your Google account. The extension asks Chrome for your profile email and id, and nothing more. No access token is requested, and no Google service, including your contacts, Drive and Gmail, is ever contacted.

The Chrome extension

The extension does two things: it saves the page you are on, and it shows your lists when you open a new tab. Both need a small number of permissions, and it is reasonable to want to know what each one is for.

identity Reads your Chrome profile email and id, so we know which account to save into. No access token is requested and no Google API is called.
tabs Reads the current tab's address and title when you save it. On a new tab, reads that window's tab list to offer the page you came from. Nothing is read otherwise.
storage Keeps a copy of your own lists on your own machine, so a new tab opens instantly. It is cleared when you remove the extension.
alarms Refreshes that local copy in the background.
favicon Draws each site's icon from Chrome's own local cache, so an icon lookup never leaves your machine.
contextMenus Adds the right-click "Add to Link Adder" entry.
www.linkadder.com The only website the extension is permitted to contact. It is our own server, and it is where your lists live.

The extension replaces your new tab page, and Chrome asks you to confirm that before it takes effect. To undo it, remove the extension from chrome://extensions. Your saved links are unaffected and stay on this site.

How the information is used

  • To show you your own links, and to keep them where you put them.
  • To identify your account, so that a new tab on your machine shows your lists and not somebody else's.
  • To email you about your account. When you first use Link Adder we send one message with a link to set a password for the website. We do not send marketing email.
  • To run features you switch on yourself. A list set to check whether its links still work will have our server request those addresses on a schedule, and that happens only for lists you configure that way.
  • To keep the service running, and to investigate faults and abuse.

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not transfer it to anyone for their own purposes. It is not used to assess creditworthiness or for lending. There is no advertising on Link Adder, and no ad network is given anything.

Services we rely on

Link Adder is a small operation and uses a handful of outside services to run. Each sees only what it needs in order to do its job, and none is given your links for its own use.

Google Analytics Measures how this website is used, in aggregate. It sets cookies and receives your IP address. It runs on the website only, not inside the extension and not on your new tab page.
Google Fonts Serves the typefaces used by the website and the new tab page. Google receives the request, including your IP address.
Mailgun Delivers the account email described above. It receives your email address.
Cloudinary Stores and serves images, including any custom tile image you upload.
sitenail.com Generates the preview picture on a tile. The address of the saved page forms part of the image request, so this service sees which sites are in your lists. It is run by us, on our own infrastructure.
Content delivery networks Shared code libraries and icons come from cdnjs, jsDelivr and our own cdnjs.lol. They receive your IP address when your browser fetches a file.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety. If Find Your Net, LLC is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer as part of that, and you would be told before it happened.

Cookies

This website sets a session cookie when you sign in. It keeps you signed in and does nothing else. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, described above. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party remarketing on Link Adder.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will stop you signing in to the website. The extension does not use cookies and keeps working.

Do Not Track

Browsers differ in how they send a Do Not Track signal and there is no agreed standard for answering one, so we do not act on it. To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, Google publishes a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Links to other sites

Link Adder is made of links, so you will often leave it. Once you do, this policy stops applying and the policy of the site you landed on takes over. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for what they do with your information.

Security

The website and the extension talk over an encrypted connection, and the database is not reachable from the public internet. That is a reasonable standard of care, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not reuse an important password here.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your account and your links for as long as you have an account, because they are the thing you came here for. There is no separate archive and no copy sold on.

  • See what is held. Everything Link Adder has saved for you is on your own lists at www.linkadder.com, visible whenever you sign in.
  • Delete a link. Deleting moves it to your Recycle Bin. Emptying the bin removes it from our database for good.
  • Delete everything. Email ltdninja@iadb.com from the address on the account and ask. The account and every link in it are deleted outright, not merely hidden.
  • Stop the extension. Remove it from chrome://extensions. It stops reading anything at that moment, and the local copy of your lists goes with it.

After an account is deleted, ordinary server logs may still hold a record of past requests for a short period before they rotate, and a backup taken beforehand may contain the data until that backup expires. Neither is used for anything once you have gone.

Children

Link Adder is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the version on this page is always the current one. Material changes will be announced on the site rather than made quietly.
